After ten years in the materials handling industry, Tamara Ebsworth, Area Sales Executive for central England and South Wales, joined the Dawsongroup material handling team in November 2023.
An Industry Career
Tamara started her professional life in the materials handling industry as junior administrator at Doosan. She was quickly promoted into sales and operations, overseeing different departments, including Sales Admin, PDI and the workshop. In 2021, she moved into sales, first supporting the UK dealer network, including Dawsongroup, then promoting sales across the country with another company. After speaking to the team at Dawsongroup about the potential for career progression, Tamara made the decision to join material handling, bringing her years of industry knowledge with her.
The Missing Link
Tamara hit the ground running as soon as she joined, growing her customer base and proving herself to be an expert in the sheet metal, warehousing, and timber industries. One of Tamara’s favourite parts of the job is meeting with existing and potential customers to discuss their individual needs and develop a solution that works specifically for them. Connection and relationship are the foundation of Tamara’s success, and she always take the time to get to know her customers, chatting about life as well as business.
Prospecting is often key to success in sales and Tamara has found social media to be an invaluable asset. It has allowed her to connect with numerous potential clients, enabling her to create a presence across the market. As a result, Tamara has built relationships with potential customers over her initial few months at Dawsongroup before working with them to provide the solutions they need.
Bringing Solutions to Your Doorstep
Tamara’s days focus on bringing unique solutions to businesses across her area, introducing them to a smarter way of working.
“The Smarter Asset Strategy is something really unique to Dawsongroup,” said Tamara. “Things change in business all the time and if you’re tied into a five- or seven-year deal with a third party then you won’t be able to keep up. Dawsongroup offers our customers the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances. We remove the capital risk, the issues with depreciation, and the cost of equipment downtime.”
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Tamara Ebsworth has known the team at Dawsongroup material handling for a few years and already had a good working relationship with the team before joining them. This made the transition to Dawsongroup easier for her, allowing her to focus on growing her customer base.
“I really enjoy working at Dawsongroup,” said Tamara. “The team are great, and we all bring different skills and perspectives to the table. Paul Hull, Area Sales Executive, has excellent technical skills, and I speak to Field Sales Manager Adam Reaney, every day, so I always have support when I need it. Nobody can know everything, but there’s always help within our own team.”
Outside of work, Tamara loves to travel as much as possible. In the last few years she has visited several countries including Norway, where she got to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime cruise through the snowy fjords around Olden.
