Paul Hull, Area Sales Executive for Dawsongroup material handling, has been a part of the industry his entire life. Starting work at his father’s forklift business when he was sixteen, he has developed a lifetime of knowledge about forklifts and the material handling industry, which he puts to good use at Dawsongroup.
Unparalleled Industry Knowledge
Paul Hull quickly worked his way up from making coffee and running errands to working in the field fixing second-hand trucks by the time he was twenty-one. Not long after this, he moved into procurement, focusing on side loading trucks. Throughout his career in the material handling industry, which included running his own business, Paul developed unparalleled industry knowledge.
As Area Sales Executive, Paul harnesses his thorough technical knowledge to help customers solve problems ranging from improving warehouse processes to reducing material damage. Paul considers these solutions to be his biggest achievement. For example, his work with Kudos Showers enabled the company to level up their warehouse logistics. Kudos Showers needed a solution that would limit the damaging of plate glass during warehouse transportation. Paul, along with the rest of the Dawsongroup team, assisted Kudos in reducing their damage spend by 90%.
“Coming up with solutions that really benefit the customer gives me a buzz,” said Paul. “Being able to take a different view of our customers’ problems and support them as they reach their goals is really special.”
Prioritising Customer Relationships
An important part of Paul’s job is building the relationship between himself and his customers. His customers know they can get in touch at any time, which gives them the confidence of knowing they are Paul’s priority and will receive the best possible service. This connection and relationship are a vital part of Dawsongroup’s provision and ensures the right solution for our customers’ needs.
This looks different for every business Paul works with. Each company has individual needs and requires unique solutions, which is what the Smarter Asset Strategy is all about. The key is providing the right equipment to meet each customer’s requirements whilst utilising a usership model to guarantee the best use of funds. Customers can keep their capital, spread the cost and minimise the risks associated with new solutions. By focusing on the needs of each company, Paul and the rest of the material handling team support them with moving their business to the next level.
After almost five years at Dawsongroup, Paul enjoys his job as much as he did when he started. In Paul’s opinion, much of his experience has been enhanced by the team around him, who work hard and offer support to each other, helping to prioritise building their customer relationships.
“The people I work with are fantastic,” said Paul. “Everyone in the team has a lot of respect for each other and we have a lot of open communication. We work together to find the right solution for our customers. Other members of the team often come to me for technical information and I’m always happy to offer advice and help in any way I can.”
The Future Is Bright for Paul Hull
As Paul looks to the future, he plans to continue working at Dawsongroup for many years to come. Having been a part of Dawsongroup for almost half a decade, Paul has seen a lot of change, and he hopes to support Tim Abraham, Managing Director of Dawsongroup material handling, and the managerial team as they continue to grow the business. His passion for Dawsongroup’s Smarter Asset Strategy and building relationships with customers drives him to excel in his work.
Outside of work, Paul Hull likes to spend his time on the golf course. It doesn’t matter if it’s summer or winter, Paul enjoys getting in a few rounds; he is even heading to Turkey next year for a whole week of all-inclusive golfing bliss. He also has plenty of other travelling plans and is hoping to visit Australia in the not-too-distant future.
